Hafod Care residents join Royal Wedding celebrations

The wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton was an occasion for celebration for Hafod Care residents.

Several of our homes hosted lively parties and entertainment on Friday 29th April, and a great deal of effort was put in to make the day a memorable one.

Here are just some of the festivities:

Gwynfa, Llanishen, Cardiff

Gwynfa celebrated the Royal Wedding with an all-day party, starting the day with a continental breakfast and Bucks Fizz and a street-styled party with BBQ later in the day.

Ty Penrhos, Caerphilly

Residents at Ty Penrhos celebrated the Royal Wedding in style!  The "Street" area at the centre of the home played host to its very own street party, decorated to the max with bunting and Union Jack tableware.

Everyone enjoyed a delicious buffet.  Staff and families joined in the festivities, some dressing up.  Flags were waved, music played, and all-in-all it was a wonderful day.

Cwmbran House, Pontnewydd,

Cwmbran

Flag and bunting adorned the dining room at Cwmbran House for a special residents’ party. Party food included a particularly impressive selection of cakes and desserts!

Ty George Lansbury, Cwmbran

“Ty George” held a joint cream tea and royal wedding raffle, extending an invitation to the 'day centre' group that has been attending Ty George weekly on a trial basis.

The day was enjoyed by all who attended, marking this occasion in their own special way.

There was also a belated Easter bonnet competition which was judged the same day, with the tenants making their own hats.

Ty Gwyn, Fairwater, Cwmbran

The cook and team at Ty Gwyn prepared a beautiful buffet lunch, with their very own wedding cake. Residents all toasted the new bride and groom….. several times. A special mention to the staff who worked very hard to give all the residents a good time.
