Youth Awards celebration

The Youth Awards are now in their fourth year and were organised by Hafod Housing in partnership with Yellow Wales.  They were held at the Heronston Hotel Bridgend.

The overall winner was Charlotte Gillet; she was nominated by her Hafod Care support worker Jamie Feiven, of the Bridgend Young Persons Scheme.  Jamie commended Charlotte for her achievement in overcoming many personal challenges.

He said Charlotte has a desire to help others, assisting in Help for Heroes day, attending Army Cadets and completing her Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. Charlotte works full time in a Bridgend nursery and hopes to undertake her Foundation Degree in Early Learning in September.

Charlotte was presented with her award by Sue Sheppard, Hafod Care Board member.
