While managing accommodation for the elderly plays a large part in the day-to-day activity of Hafod Care, it is certainly not our only area of expertise.

We provide accommodation for a wide range of people with varying levels of support needs and pride ourselves on our ability to offer the specialist help and support they need.

Many of the people we house and support find it difficult to maintain a tenancy independently. We are well equipped to offer the help and support people need in order to maximise their independence. We have used additional resources to extend our provision of tenant support  services by opening new satellite offices in Barry and Whitchurch.

These new satellite offices have already proved to be an enormous help. They provide a base for the tenant support workers to do all their paperwork and link into our computer system but most importantly, they have increased our local presence in the communities which we serve. The project has been such a success that we are now planning to open similar bases in Canton and Trowbridge.

Homelessness is an ongoing problem but we have continued to strengthen our partnerships with a number of local organisations, which provide direct access hostels for single people. These include Cardiff Action for the Single Homeless (CASH), Wallich Clifford and Llamau Housing Society. As we look to the future, we hope to be able to extend these partnerships to ensure that vulnerable youngsters in need of emergency accommodation do not have to face the frightening prospect of having to sleep on the street.
