Bridgend Young Person Scheme
What is Bridgend Young Persons Scheme?
The scheme provides tenancy support to 16-25 year olds for approximately 2 years.
The scheme seeks to empower the young person to live independently and maintain their tenancy.
Support is based on the needs of the young person support can help with the following:
· Budgeting
· Education
· Training
· Employment
· LifestyleSupport
· NetworkHealthDomestic Abilities
Each tenant has their own one bedroom flat allocated through Hafod Housing Association.
Once support has finished you will remain in the property on an Assured Tenancy.
Hafod Care will help you to sustain your tenancy.
Two support workers are available to provide support to the tenants between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.

You will be helped to get a flat.
· You may have never had a tenancy before.
Support will be given to help you into your new home and to keep to the rules of the tenancy.
· You may not know about household bills.
Help will be given with managing your money.
· You do not know how to claim Housing Benefit.
You will be supported to make claims for Housing Benefit or any other welfare benefits.
· You may not have any family to support you.
Your support worker will help you with any problems you have.
· What Properties Are Provided?
Hafod Housing Association provides the properties which are located throughout the Borough of Bridgend.
· What If I Want To Get A Job Or Go To College?
Your support worker will work with you to help you access training or a college course to help you get a job.
