Bridgend Group Homes

Description of projects

There are four shared houses in and around Bridgend, three of which house two tenants and one which houses three tenants.

Sunnyside: Shared house for two people near the centre of Bridgend. Each tenant has their own living room and bedroom, with shared kitchen and bathroom/toilets and a large garden.

Abbey Road: Shared house for two people in the Kenfig Hill area. Each tenant has their own bedroom and living room, with shared kitchen and bathroom and a large garden.

Ffordd yr Eglwys: Shared house for three people in North Cornelly. Each tenant has their own bedroom and share a communal lounge, dining room, kitchen and bathroom. The house has a large garden and shed.

Glanffornwg: Shared house for two people in Wildmill. Each tenant has their own bedroom and share a communal lounge, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and garden.

Tenants living in Bridgend Group Homes are encouraged to take a full and active part in the local community. Each tenant will have an individual support plan. This will be drawn up and agreed with the support staff. Prospective tenants should be aware that they will be expected to fully participate in the activities agreed in their support plan.

Staff

Each house is staffed Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am-5pm. Ffordd yr Eglwys is also staffed on Saturday and Sunday.

Support workers work on a rota ensuring that tenants are familiar with every member of staff within the support team.

Tenants also have access to an emergency alarm facility out of hours.

All of Hafod Care's support staff have received extensive training and are subject to enhanced CRB disclosure. They are supervised by a Senior support worker who is based within the team..

Move On

Bridgend Group Homes are not intended to provide a 'home for life'. There is an expectation that tenants will move on to more independent accommodation when they are able.
